CURRENT PROJECTS:
As Adaptor/Director I am working on a family show - an adaptation of The Jolly Postman books by Janet and Allan Ahlberg which had it’s first run at OSO, Barnes in October 2024. I work regularly as a Dramaturg with writer Patrick Barlow (The 39 Steps) currently on a major new play for Sonia Friedman Productions for the West End and an adaptation of a classic novel. Previously I worked with Patrick on Starchild for BBC Radio 4. I am also a Reader for Sonia Friedman Productions.
RECENT PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
As a regular AD to Lucy Bailey, I was Assistant Director and Dramaturg on Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare’s Globe, Associate Director on long-running Olivier-nominated Witness for the Prosecution at London County Hall and Assistant Director on Switzerland in the West End.
I direct regularly at Drama Studio London (DSL) on the MA and MFA courses, most recently I directed my own play Theodora at the Cockpit Theatre and previously have directed Ghosts, Cymbeline, The Hunt, Design For Living, A View From the Bridge at DSL.
I collaborate regularly with playwright Paul Westwood. Our recent shows include Cliff Club at Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh Fringe 2023 and Skin In The Game at The Old Red Lion Theatre produced by Greenwich Theatre and supported by Arts Council England.
I was a Board Director (Trustee) at Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells.
I was Artistic Director of the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis from 2015-2017. In this role I programmed a 300-capacity theatre, directed two shows for NT Connections, delivered an artist development programme, and commissioned and directed two large-scale promenade community plays involving over 100 local people aged 8-80.
I set up and led ACE-funded theatre company BurntOut Theatre from 2012-2015, developing and directing 5 productions which toured to festivals and site-specific locations across the UK. I commissioned and directed Muscovado by Oliver award winner Matilda Feyiṣayọ Ibini which opened at Theatre503 and won the Alfred Fagon Audience Award 2015, presented at the National Theatre.
Between 2013-2015 I worked for Cardboard Citizens, a theatre company that works with people with experience of homelessness.
